Take the good day while you may
As Islay is an island it follows that there is a great seafaring tradition here. Nowadays it's mainly small inshore boats that use the harbours and ports around Islay, but the facilities offer travellers by sea a unique opportunity to explore the island at a gentler pace. You could berth at a different port evey night for a week if you wished, visiting the 8 distilleries in turn.
