Cliffs on the Oa Nature Reserve on the Island of Islay - Run by the RSPB

'Mios ro gach ràith a choltas'
A month before each season, its appearance comes

The Oa nature reserve in the South-west of Islay is 'open' all year. There are the cliffs and sandy beaches, moorland, grasslands and heath, each with its own inhabitants. You are likely to see Chuffs, Golden Eagles, Peregrins, Hen Harriers as well as seals on the rocks and beaches. Spring is when the birds mate and so the air is filled with activity and birdsong. Autumn is the time for migration and large groups of many species can be seen onthe wing heading for warmer climes.

Enjoy the sounds, smells and sights of Islay!
