'Chan fhaighear an-dè air ais an-diugh'
You can’t today recall yesterday

The Museum of Islay Life located in Port Charlotte, provides the broadest posible interpretation of human settlement on Islay from neolithic pottery to the Victorian times. There is an excellent reference library and archive of papers, records, maps and genealogical information.

There is an exhibition of what it was like to live in two houses on Islay of the Edwardian era; one a simple house and the other that of the laird.
