Lossit Beach
West Islay
Fairly un-discovered by Islay standards for most people; this may be due to the inaccessibility of it. The nearest parking is by the Octofad road-end or verges nearby, then a fairly stiff half an hour walk across undulating farmland. There are no paths to follow, it's downhill to the beach but be warned..it's all uphill coming back. Once there, you will have sight of one of the best beaches in the Southern Hebrides and most likely all to yourself. The beach is mainly sandy with rock formations to the south end. The land owners strictly prohibit dogs during the lambing season.
