Killinallan Beach on the Isle of Islay

Killinallan Beach
North-west Islay

Killinallan is a long sandy strand on the opposite side of Loch Gruinart to the RSPB reserve. The beach is reached by taking the Killinallan road on the right hand side of Loch Gruinart and following right to the end where the road is gated, there is plenty of space to park. Here then it's either a walk following the coastline around the small sandy headland or you can walk further down the track beyond the gate and then cut across to the beach later on. Walking is fairly gentle but allow 40 minutes to an hour each way.

Islay... vivid, unspoilt splendour
