Gruinart Flats on the Island of Islay - Nature Reserves run by the RSPB

'Mios ro gach ràith a choltas'
A month before each season, its appearance comes

There are two Nature Reserves on the Isle of Islay both run by the RSPB. Although most of Islay is teeming with exciting wildlife, the reserves provide visitors with a maximum diversity of species. As a 'bonus' the scenery in both reserves is quite simply stunning and has to be seen to be believed.

The Sites of Special Scientific Interest section will give you access to all the places on Islay of interest to the naturalist, courtesy of Scottish National Heritage.

Enjoy the sounds, smells and sights of Islay!
